Psychiatric Medication Management
You might be wondering if you or your child might benefit from psychiatric medications, but feel a bit uneasy about the idea of taking psychiatric medications. You might prefer to approach things from a more holistic and natural perspective before trying prescription medications.
Or you or your child might already be taking psychiatric medications and wonder if it might be time to try to reduce the use of prescription medications. You might wonder if a more holistic or natural approach could help you or your child have less of a need for psychiatric medications.
You might wonder if there are other medications or integrative approaches that haven’t been explored that might help you or your child more than the medications that you are taking now.
If this resonates, I’m so glad you found me. Please read on to see if my services might be a good fit for you.
You or your child might have been started on psychiatric medications in the past when going through a particularly challenging time, and now you might wonder if you or your child still needs them now that this difficult episode has passed.
Or perhaps, you might have felt like your prescriber didn’t take the time to get to know you or your child. You might even wonder if you or your child have been misdiagnosed or if your prescriber missed something important.
You might wonder about the long term health effects of taking psychiatric medications and want to make sure that you understand the medications you or your child are taking. You might even wonder if there are different medications that might be safer or alternatives to medications that you weren’t made aware of.
I can help you get more clarity about psychiatric medications.
I prioritize taking the time to get to know each client to make sure we have the right diagnosis, and develop a treatment plan that feels right to you. I take the time to discuss risks and benefits of each medication or alternative treatment, discuss potential side effects, and answer all your questions.
I can partner with you to streamline your medication regimen and investigate alternative medications or holistic treatments. My goal is to provide you with the support and information you need to feel empowered to make informed choices that improve your mental and physical health or that of your child.
I can help you sort out your feelings about taking medications. Even though there is now increased awareness of mental health in our culture, some of us may feel that we shouldn't need to take psychiatric medications or be in therapy even though it might actually benefit us. We might feel like we should be “strong enough” or “spiritual enough” to get through things on our own. These feelings tend to come up a lot in high functioning people and might prevent us from living our fullest or happiest lives.
My experience with psychiatric medications.
I’ve been prescribing psychiatric medications for children and adults for over 20 years. As a board certified adult and child / adolescent psychiatrist, I’m constantly keeping up with new research and innovations in psychopharmacology.
I have seen psychiatric medications greatly benefit my clients on their healing journey. I have also had clients come to me having been previously misdiagnosed, grossly overmedicated, and suffering from side effects worse than their original symptoms. With these clients I was able to gradually reduce their medications and help them get back in alignment with themselves again.
It’s important to have an experienced psychiatrist who can take the time to partner with you, to properly diagnose and educate you about your diagnosis, and offer you multiple options for treatment. You are the source of your own health, and I strive to empower you to make choices that best align with your needs and values.
By providing psychotherapy at every visit and offering integrative approaches including Pranic Healing, nutritional therapy, nutraceuticals, and homeopathy, you have additional treatment approaches beyond psychiatric medications. With my concierge approach, you will receive the time and individualized care that you deserve.
