Psychiatry and Coaching for Parents
Empowering parents to become the parents they want to be uplifting themselves their whole family
Being a parent can be one of the most rewarding but challenging parts of life, especially when you see your child struggling.
You want to do everything in your power to help your child, but you feel overwhelmed at times trying to figure out what to do and trying to do everything you possibly can.
Then there is the guilt you might feel, asking yourself, “Am I doing enough? Could I be doing more to help my child?”
You might feel anxious, tired, drained, depressed, irritable, and even hopeless at times.
You might wonder if things will ever get easier or ask when is it your turn to feel happy.
If you are feeling this way, I’m so glad you found me. Please read on to see if my services might be a good fit for you.
As a parent you deserve support just as much as anyone else, if not more.
You might be pretending that you are fine, putting on a brave face for your child and your family but when you have a moment alone you might feel overwhelmed with intense emotions and anxiety.
Not having the emotional or mental energy to put into all your priorities, you might find that your career and important relationships are suffering.
Without taking care of your own needs, you might not be getting enough sleep or taking care of yourself. You know how to eat healthy, exercise, and meditate, but it feels you never enough time or energy for you. You might even start to feel disconnected from yourself and vision of who you want to be.
Putting other’s needs ahead of your own in this way creates a cycle of more fatigue, irritability, and overwhelm. You might have times when you snap, from all the tension and exhaustion, yelling or making an issue of something then feeling guilty and wondering why your not being the parent you want to be.
I can help you be the parent you want to be.
The first step is reconnecting with your spirit and helping you identify where your thoughts and actions might be misaligned with your higher self.
You may not yet be fully aware of what you value most and how to move towards that.
Working together, I can help you find your inner compass to guide you into alignment with your inner wisdom and strength as a parent.
We can develop strategies based on your unique preferences and situation to help you move towards having the kind of life and relationship with your children that you really desire.
Why I love working with parents
As a mother of children with special needs and a child psychiatrist, I have a deep understanding of the challenges of parenting.
In my work with parents and kids, I have found that when parents start taking care of themselves emotionally and physically, their kids feel it.
When parents become aligned within themselves, there is a big positive shift in the whole household.
The old expression “If momma ain’t happy, ain't nobody happy" is true. So let's get momma happy!
This is equally true for papa! A change in a father’s energy will shift the whole household!
